((This is a collection of questions I've answered about Ryoji, to get a grasp on his inner nuances and try to play him as best as possible.... and then I got frustrated and deleted half of them because Ryoji doesn't have a childhood or a home or THINGS. I'll leave this up to list random headcanons and things that I come up with at random points. Consider this an AMA for Ryoji so if you have any pressing questions, comment and I will answer. If you have any quizzes or anything that may be interesting to add to this list, let me know!))
What is your characters name? Does the character have a nickname?
Ryoji Mochizuki doesn't have a nickname, but he does have several other titles, including Pharos, Death, The Thirteenth Arcana, Thanatos, and Nyx's Avatar.
What is your character's hair color? Eye color?
Ryoji's hair is a deep shade of black, and his eyes are a striking shade of light blue.
What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have?
Ryoji's most defining feature is a small mole, just in the right corner under his left eye. His eyebrows are also small and short.
Who are your character's friends and family? Who does he surround himself with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who does he wish he were closest to?
Ryoji does not have any family besides his 'mother', Nyx, the maternal being for all Shadows. He does not feel any sort of affection towards her, and in fact resents her for forcing him into a purpose he does not wish to fulfill. He knows it is irrational to hate her, since as far as he knows, she does not speak or communicate in any regular way, but yet he does.
Ryoji is a popular individual, and thus has many acquaintances but few close friends. He has associated himself with everyone in his class, as well as the members of SEES, especially Junpei, Minato, Yukari, Fuuka, and Aigis. Junpei is probably his closest friend, and Ryoji spends most of his time after school playing video games and eating fast food with him. Though he did not have much time to associate with Minato, he also feels particularly close to him because of the remnants of his connection with Minato through Pharos. He is eager to be friends with Minato and has something close to affection for him.
Where was your character born? Where has he lived since then? Where does he call home?
Ryoji was not 'born', but rather created in a laboratory in Tatsumi Port Island. He was created out of a combination of Shadows, and escaped that lab only to be sealed inside Minato's body. He hasn't really lived anywhere besides Tatsumi Port Island, and thus it is the only place he could think to call home. He likely had a small apartment that he abandoned once he realized his true nature. In reality, anywhere that he could be close to his friends would be a place he would want to be home, but he knows that is impossible for him.
Where does your character go when hes angry?
Ryoji often isn't the type to get angry, and tends to avoid conflict. When he is upset, he tends to hide from people as best he can, wandering around the shrine and in back alleys late at night.
What is his biggest fear? Who has he told this to? Who would he never tell this to? Why?
Ryoji has several fears that are connected to form his biggest fear. He is afraid of harming his friends, because of what he has become and what he is fated to do. He is afraid of his abilities and their potential for destruction. At the same time, as much as he tries to claim otherwise, he is also afraid to die, to lose the life he was never meant to have. He is selfishly holding onto his life and his desire for friends despite his knowledge that he will only hurt them in the end. In reality, he's mostly afraid of losing what he was never meant to have, whether that's his friends, his life, his emotions, or something else. He refuses to explain that to anyone in case they sympathize with him, so he keeps it to himself.
Does he have a secret?
Ryoji is not a very secretive person, but there are a few things he keeps under wraps. He tends not to share his backstory, of his creation as Death and his duty to end the world, with anyone unless he is worried it may affect them. He will tell close friends, but otherwise try to keep silent.
The only other secret he has is one that he keeps from himself as well, and that is his feelings for the protagonist. In the female route, he admits to his feelings and dates Minako, but he doesn't realize his feelings for Minato are very close to the same thing. He continues to think of Minato as a friend and can't allow himself to think about becoming close to him.
What makes your character laugh out loud?
Ryoji does laugh a lot, but they are usually friendly chuckles instead of full-out laughter. If anything would make him truly laugh, it would likely be the antics of Junpei or his other friends.

Ryoji's voice
Ryoji is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal in the English version of Persona 3 and Akira Ishida in the Japanese. Either voice is fine to imagine. It's very similar to Minato's own voice, but slightly higher in tone. He has a more flighty way of speaking, and his intonation is smooth, which likely helps add to his charm. He speaks a bit quickly, but he doesn't run his words together, and is sure to articulate so he's easily understood. His voice always has a touch of softness to it, so he seems more gentle and less threatening to humans. A lot of his vocal nuances are things he instinctively does to make himself more likeable.
Ryoji can also speak multiple languages, and when he does, he adopts the common tone and accent for the language. He really only understands Japanese, though, and the other languages are remnants of his abilities as Death, so other languages can seem fake in a way, like he's just playing a recorded message and trying to mouth along with the words.
Favourite foods/eating habits
Ryoji, having only lived as a human for a few short months, did not get to try many foods, but he does have a few favourites. He enjoys foods that are unhealthy most of the time, and he has a bit of a sweet tooth, thanks to the type of meals Junpei usually had with him. He enjoys burgers, ramen, takoyaki, cakes (his favourite being strawberry shortcake), and warm drinks (like mochas). He also has a fondness for items that are green tea flavoured.
Ryoji tends to regularly eat more take-out and fast food than anything else, as he usually went to Wild Duck or Hagakure after school with Junpei and it was a habit he still continued even after they stopped visiting each other. He usually forgets about breakfast, and can even skip other meals if he is particularly focused on something else. Being inhuman means he doesn't need to eat like normal humans, so forgetting to eat doesn't cause him much harm. He does like eating, though, as he enjoys the tastes and likes the feeling of doing something normal.
